Answering the National call of “Total Woman…Mind, Body and Spirit,” the women of the Schaumburg-Hoffman Estates Alumnae Chapter (SHAC) have pursued and achieved both collective and individual journeys to wellness. We are continuously inspired and motivated to support the well-being of not only those in our Sisterhood, but are also concerned about the welfare of individuals and families in the communities in which we live and serve.

With our principle focus of Sisterhood and Service, SHAC assesses the needs of our communities and works either independently or with community-based organizations to activate resources, at our disposal, to improve conditions and the welfare of the citizens in our service area.

Our initiatives and coordinated activities have helped to bring about change where there are issues that disproportionately impact the physical and/or mental health of women, children, and minorities.

Community Crisis Center

The support we give to clients at the Community Crisis Center in Elgin, IL is one of our important initiatives and allows us to be directly engaged in service to others.

Rahab’s Daughter

We place great emphasis on empowering women to fight against issues that lead to mental and physical health challenges, especially in young women. The combined goals of Physical and Mental Health and International Awareness and Involvement have led us to support community agencies, like Rahab’s Daughter, to combat sex trafficking and to offer alternatives for victims of human trafficking.

March for Babies

SHAC continues to provide financial support to organizations that provide resources to those affected by chronic and life-threatening health conditions. We have participated in the March of Dimes March for Babies annual walk and served as volunteers during the event.
